TheSixtyOne - Streaming Music Goodness

If you’re sick of all the popular crap on the radio these days, check out TheSixtyOne. It is a great site that streams music the entire time you are on it. The music is mostly made up of user-submissions, and the good songs get “bumped” up from other users. It is because of this that you’re almost guaranteed to find music you’ve never heard before. There have been quite a few bands and/or artists that I’ve watched rise to the top and become popular during my time with TheSixtyOne.

Besides listening to tunes, you can also participate in the “game” played by listening, recommending and performing other actions on the site. You get points, go up levels, and unlock more features from the site. Quite fun!

And since this is nothing more than a Flash app on a website, it is, of course, compatible with just about every browser and operating system including Linux.

You’ll also notice I’ve added my radio here on the linuxdave.com homepage. If you want to hear what I’m listening to, check it out!
